Issued early in WW2, the B-1 Summer Flying Cap saw service in Africa, Europe and the Pacific. Popular among pilots and ground crew alike, the B-1 was favored for the breathable fabric, slightly longer brim and comfortable fit (it fits lower in the back than most modern baseball caps). Our B-1 cap reproduction features a lightweight summer cotton fabric, 4-panel design and formed brim. Just like the original, our hats are made to specific hat sizes (Medium is 7 1/8, Large is 7 3/8, XL is 7 5/8 and XXL is 7 7/8). (Please see our images and instructions to measure your hat size accurately before ordering). The 4-panel design means there's no "button" at the top of the hat like most baseball caps. This feature is popular with pilots who wear headsets during flight.
