LED BLOG
A word about LEDs (2023):
LEDs are amazing devices that use a small amount of power to generate light. Unlike incandescent bulbs that produce more heat than light, LEDs are highly efficient.
But LEDs are current-sensitive !
When testing an LED bulb or fixture, don't use a high-current source like a car or motorcyle battery, to test the light. Doing so will most certainly FRY the bulb. (That momentary "flash" you see if connecting a LED to a car battery is the internal destruction of the LED module or driver circuit.) Test your bulbs or fixtures with a bench power supply or other low-current power source (less than 1 amp, if possible).
