When used in rotating beacons, the LED replacement bulbs are brighter, have low heat and greatly reduce the power consumption of the rotating beacon from about 7A to about 2.5 to 3.0 amps (14V systems).  

Also works as a replacement for Ice Identification bulbs (GE 7079 and equivalent)
