Finally, a LED replacement for expensive and high-current GE 1940-type bulbs used in common Aircraft Rotating Beacons.

 
Our 3W, 300 lumen LED Bulb is an ideal low-current, super-bright replacement.
 
(Note - this application is for a non-reflector bulb.  Your beacon has a fixed or rotating reflector behind the bulb)

  • Applications include:  Rotating Beacons and Navigation Lights
  • 3.0 Watts of power; Low power consumption (less than 220mA @13.8V)
  • 14VDC and 28VDC compatible
  • High-output LEDs
  • About 30% brighter than incandescent
  • BA15S base (center contact; 2 matching side retainers - see diagram).   This bulb fits ONLY the GE1940 replacements.  See our other listings for RA7512 (BAY15s) type bulbs, either with or without built-in reflectors)
  • Rated at 50,000 hours
  • Fully sealed glass dome
  • Experimental Aircraft Only (for Certified aircraft - these bulbs meet FAA illumination guidelines but have no STC/PMA -  have your IA/A&P consider these as a "minor alteration"
  • Tested in Grimes and Whelen Navigation lights and Grimes rotating beacons.  Super bright output and considerably less current demand than incandescent bulbs.
